WEST POINT & RHINEBECK TRIP IN AUGUST
On August 4 - 6 we'll be traveling to the Hudson River Valley, a region of fjord-like beauty where the Hudson River cuts through the Appalachian Mountain Range. Our 1st destination is the historic village of Rhinebeck and the Old Rhinebeck Aerodrome, a living history museum of vintage aircraft, antique vehicles and engines. We will experience "The History of Flight" - an Air Show featuring World War I era fighter planes and the golden age of aviation in the 20's and 30's. Dinner is included at the Hudson River House Hotel. On day 2 we will travel to Kingston, NY for a scenic cruise down the Hudson River with breathtaking views and expert narration., followed by a 2-hour guided tour of West Point Military Academy and dinner at the iconic Thayer Hotel. Before we head home on day 3, we will visit the Military Museum and our last stop will be at Hyde Park, for a visit to the Presidential Library and Museum of FDR. The cost for this trip is $860 per person/double, $1092 per person/single and $630 per person/triple. The cost includes transportation, 2 nights at The Holiday Inn Express hotel, 5 meals, the Old Rhinebeck Aerodrome, Hudson River Cruise, guided tour of West Point Academy, Dinner at the Thayer Hotel, visit to FDR's Presidential Library, all gratuities and trip protection insurance. A $100 deposit is due at registration with the balance due by June 7. Registration for Foxborough residents begins on Thursday, May 2 at noon. Non-resident registration will begin on Thursday, May 9 at noon.
TRIP TO THE EDWARD M. KENNEDY INSTITUTE
The Edward M. Kennedy Institute for the United States Senate actively inspires all Americans to keep our democracy and civic life vibrant, educates the public about the unique role of the Senate in our government, and promotes civic discourse to drive bipartisan solutions for our nation's challenges. On Thursday, June 20 from 9a.m. to 3 p.m. we will be traveling into Boston via school bus for a group visit to the Institute. Seniors will have 90 minutes to explore the Institute including the full-scale replica of the United States Senate chamber. Afterwards we will head to Sullivan's at castle Island for a late lunch (on your own) before returning to Foxborough. The bus will leave from the Booth Parking Lot at 9 a.m. The cost is $25 per person and is due when you sign up in advance.
COLLEEN MARSHALL PROGRAM
Please join Colleen Marshall at the senior center on Wednesday, April 17 at 2 p.m. as she sings songs of the greats: Barbra Streisand, Frank Sinatra, Whitney Houston and Patsy Cline to name a few. With a soaring vocal range and warm stage presence, she transcends musical borders with her interpretations of well-known classics. This program is sponsored by the Sue Marshall Team at Keller Williams Elite. Sign up in advance and we'll save you a seat for this musical performance.
INTERESTING APPLE WATCH FEATURES
On Wednesday, April 24 at 2 p.m. there will be a program at the senior center that will walk Apple Watch users through its interesting features, including some Life Saving features! Sign up to reserve your seat.
WARRIOR YOGA
Prolonged exposure to combat and operational stress are just part of the job for service members and first responders. Warriors receive some of the best training to prepare for facing extreme conditions. Warrior Yoga classes are coordinated from the "Warrior Within Yoga Project" and it is a great opportunity for veterans and first responders to practice yoga in a group setting. This 5-week program will be held on the following Tuesdays from 5 to 6 p.m.: April 30, May 7, 14, 21 and 28. These classes are free, but you must sign up in advance.
"TALKS-BOROUGH" - THE POWER OF A STORY
On Wednesday, April 10 at 4:30 p.m., Jared Craig (Creator of Fox Tales at the MRPAC) will talk about the impact of storytelling, why stories are important to us all, and how to tell a good story. Every TV show, play and movie has a compelling story. Good Storytellers can command a room " or a campfire " with tall tales and funny antics. What makes a good story? What makes us want to listen to other "stories?" Why are there some stories that pass the test of time and others that get lost? And how can they change the world? MASS SENIOR MEDICARE PATROL PROGRAM
Protect yourself from Medicare Fraud! Healthcare errors, fraud and abuse cost American taxpayers and Medicare billions of dollars annually. On Wednesday, April 17 at 4 p.m. there will be a free workshop at the senior center presented by the Massachusetts Senior Medicare Patrol (SMP) Program. This workshop will provide attendees with information and tools to become better engaged healthcare consumers. Please sign up in advance if you'd like to join us.
FRIENDSHIP BRACELETS
Beaded Friendship Bracelets are now a ubiquitous sighting at Taylor Swift's Eras Tour shows, sported by fans and celebrities alike during, and often after, the concert. In a trend reminiscent of childhood toy swaps, fans trade bracelets with each other. Join us on Wednesday, April 17 at 4 p.m. for a 'friendship bracelet' program where participants will be making friendship bracelets for themselves, to trade at our showing of the Eras Tour video (on April 23), or to give away - maybe to an adoring grandchild who would be thrilled to get one. SENIOR WOMEN'S DISCUSSION GROUP
Ladies, join us on the 2nd Monday of each month at 11 a.m. for our Senior Women's Discussion Group. The next meeting will be on Monday, April 8 at 11 a.m. It's time to gather and discuss the joys and challenges of aging, both physically and emotionally, our experiences as we evolve into this chapter of our lives, what our "happy place" is and many other topics of interest. Collectively, we share our wisdom and the perspective we have gained over the course of our lives in a safe non-judgmental place. Helen Rice is hosting her famous card making class at the senior center on Thursday, April 11 at 2 p.m. and every 2nd Thursday of the month. Q/A WITH THE TOWN MANAGER
Town Manager Paige Duncan will be at the senior center for some coffee and conversation each month on a new day and time. In April, she will be joining us on Monday, April 22 at 11 a.m. Paige will now be with us at the senior center on the 4th Monday of every month at 11 a.m. and she will keep us up to date on what's going on in Foxborough. KENTUCKY DERBY PARTY
Join us for our very own Kentucky Derby Party at the Senior Center on Wednesday, May 1. We will be enjoying Mint Juleps, Crudites and Horse Races with a Folk Performance by "Lewis and Shea." There will be 2 seatings for this event. The 1st seating runs from 2:15 to 3:20 p.m. and the 2nd seating runs from 3:40 to 4:45 p.m. The cost is $3 per person. Our senior center Book Club will be meeting on Monday, May 6 at 11 a.m. This program, led by Library Director Libby O'Neill, is designed for seniors who love to read and discuss books. If you are interested in taking part in the Book Club, please sign up in advance.
FRIENDS BINGO - BRING A FRIEND - ALL ARE WELCOME

VETERANS CLUB
The mission of the Veterans Club is to create a listening session around veterans and their stories to ensure that this living history will never be forgotten. The Veterans Club meets at the senior center on the 1st and 3rd Mondays of each month at 2:30 p.m. The next Monday meetings will be on May 6 & 20. Sign up in advance if you'd like to join us.
MASTERS OF THE AIR
Based on the 2007 book "Masters of the Air: America's Bomber boys who Fought the Air War Against Nazi Germany," Apple TV's 9-part TV miniseries follow the actions of the 100th Bomb Group during World War II. This series serves as a companion to the shows "Band of Brothers" and "The Pacific" as it is produced in the same style by Steven Spielberg & Tom Hanks. The 9 episodes will be shown at the senior center on the following Thursdays at 2 p.m.: March 28, April 4, 11, 25, May 2, 9, 23, 30 and June 6. Sign up in advance if you'd like to join us.
LUNCHEON OUTING
Our next luncheon outing will be on Wednesday, April 17 at 1 p.m. at The Horse and Carriage restaurant. Call us to sign up by Monday, April 15 and meet us at the restaurant on the 17th. For those who require van transportation, arrangements must be made by Monday the 15th.
APRIL SENIOR SUPPER
Our Monthly Senior Supper program focuses on a unique high quality catered mean. Join us for an evening out with friends on Wednesday, April 24 when we will be serving Stuffed Shells and Salad. The program will start at 4 p.m. and food will be served around 4:30. The cost is $8 per person and must be paid in advance when you sign up.
MEN'S BBQ
It's time for the men to return outside and enjoy a great men's BBQ every month. We will start off the season with the fan favorite, Pearl Hot Dogs. Our first men's BBQ of 2024 will be held on Thursday, April 25 at 12 noon. The cost is $3 per person. You must sign up in advance with your payment.
SENIOR SANDWICHES
On Thursdays, we offer Grab and Go Senior Sandwiches at the senior center. You can pick up your sandwich at the front desk on Thursdays at any time between 10 a.m. and 1 p.m., and you can take the sandwich with you, or you are welcome to eat in the Coffee Room or on the outside benches. Quantities are limited, so you MUST sign up in advance to get your Senior Sandwich meal. There is a suggested donation of $3 to HESSCO.
TRAVEL WITH US ON THE FOLIAGE TURKEY TRAIN TOUR
Join us for the perfect Foliage Day Trip to Meredith, NH on Wednesday, Oct. 9. We will be leaving Foxborough at 9:30 a.m. from the side parking lot of St. Mary's Church, 58 Carpenter Street. We will begin our day with a beautiful scenic drive up north where we will board the Winnipesaukee Turkey Train at the Hobo Railroad. This 2-hour scenic train ride includes a delicious full turkey dinner complete with all the fixin's! This exceptional turkey meal is provided by Hart's Turkey Farm. Following the lunch train excursion we'll board the motorcoach and head to Moulton Farm, in the heart of the Lakes Region. Browse their farm stand, garden center or pick up a treat in their bakery. Registration for this trip has begun. The cost is $140 for Foxborough residents and $145 for non-residents, and must be paid at the time of registration. APRIL MOVIE DAYS
The theme for April Movie days is Concerts - Then and Now. Movies days will be held on the following Tuesdays at 1:30 p.m.:
April 9 - "Woodstock" (1969) - Considered one of the most important film documentaries of the late 1960's counter-culture in the United States, this film follows the Woodstock Music Festival in upstate New York.
April 23 - "Taylor Swift - The Eras Tour" (2023) - Taylor Swift's discography represented conceptually in 10 acts (eras) and depicts performances of most songs on the tours set list. This production was filmed in Los Angeles and is a representation of Taylor's ongoing Eras Tour.

Blood Pressure Clinics are available at the senior center on the 2nd and 4th Tuesdays of each month from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. by appointment. The upcoming clinics will be held on April 9 & 23. Please call the senior center at 508-543-1234 to set up an appointment.
HEARING HEALTH
On Wednesdays, April 3, 10, 17 & 24, there are Hearing Clinics offered at the senior center from 1 to 3 p.m. This program is free and provides a hearing screening, ear wax removal, hearing aid cleaning and service by appointment. Call in advance to schedule a 20 minute appointment.
FOOT CARE FOR SENIORS
Keeping feet in good condition is essential for effective functioning, promoting leg strength, and reducing falls. Foot Care Nurse Ami, is at our senior center on the 2nd Friday of every month to hold 20 minute footcare appointments. This service includes assessment, nail clipping and filing, corn and callous reduction and a light foot massage. The next clinic date will be held on April 12 starting at 8:30 a.m. The cost is $36 and must be paid in advance when you schedule your appointment. .
LOW VISION SUPPORT GROUP
The Low Vision Support Group will be meeting on Thursday, April 18 1 to 2 p.m. This adult group provides peer support and information for anyone with vision loss or those who have concerns about their vision. REFLEXOLOGY
On Friday, May 17, and on the 3rd Friday of each month, the senior center is offering reflexology appointments from 9 a.m. to noon. Reflexology is based on stimulating specific points on the feet that correspond to other areas and organs of the body. Reflexology is used to restore the body's natural equilibrium by improving circulation and reducing tension. This relaxing and rejuvenating experience will involve aromatherapy infused reflexology. The cost is $45 per half hour appointment. Sign up with your payment to schedule an appointment.
HAIR STYLING
Would you like to get your hair cut and styled in the comfort of the Foxborough Senior Center? Hair Stylist Laurie Nicklas is at the senior center every 4th Friday of each month, from 10 a.m. to noon. The cost per person is $15 for women and men. Laurie will be at the senior center on Friday, April 26. Sign up with your payment in advance to schedule an appointment.
KRIPALU YOGA
Yoga is the union between body, mind and spirit. Join us for an 8-week Kripalu Yoga class led by Lisa Cohen on Thursdays at 12:15 p.m. Everyone is welcome just as they are on their own personal journey towards greater non-judgmental self-awareness. There are no fitness pre-requisites to be able to develop a very meaningful and effective yoga practice, however, participants should be comfortable on the ground for an extended period of time with a yoga mat. STEVE AVELLINO'S BRAKE DANCING FOR SENIORS CLASS
Steve Avellino's new 6-week class, "Brake Dancing for Seniors," will begin on Monday, April 22. This 6-week program is designed to work the eccentric contractions of the muscles (braking system). This modality will improve dynamic posture and stability. The program is facilitated by Steve Avellino, MFT, CES, SSN, CSCS and CET. The classes will meet at 11:45 a.m. on the following Mondays: April 22, 29, May 6, 13, 20 and June 3. The cost for the class is $42 per person. Sign up in advance with your payment.
MEN'S FITNESS CLASSES
The 6-week Men's Fitness program is designed to help senior males move and feel better. We combine fitness with corrective exercise to alleviate joint pain and promote better mobility. This program is facilitated by Steve Avellino CFT, CES, SSF, SSN and the next session of classes with be held on the following Thursdays: April 18, 25, May 2, 9, 16 & 23. Due to the popularity of this program, there are now 2 Men's Fitness Classes offered on Thursdays. The first class runs from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. and the 2nd class runs from 11 a.m. to noon. The cost is $42 per person and must be paid at the time you sign up for one of the classes.
FOXBOROUGH MEMORY CAFE
The Foxborough Memory Cafe is a welcoming place for individuals, families and friends of those living with memory changes. Join us on Tuesday, April 16, and the third Tuesday of each month, from 1:30 to 3 p.m. for our Memory Cafe at the Foxborough Senior Center. Join us for live music, come listen, sing along, tap your feet and enjoy. We respectfully ask caregivers to remain with their loved ones during this program. VANGO DISCOVERY CLUB
The VanGo Discovery Club will provide an opportunity to venture out and explore a new (or familiar) location. Registrants will travel using the VanGo for an independent, self-guided exploration for 3-4 hours. Park your car at the Booth Playground (80 South Street) by 10 a.m. where you will board the van. Registration for Foxboro residents has begun. Registration for non-residents will begin on March 14. The cost for the trip is $12 per person, plus additional entry fees at certain locations. The Wednesday trip schedule is as follows: May 8 - Falmouth; May 22 - Castle Island; June 5 - Sam Slater Experience ($10 entry fee); June 26 - Heritage Museum ($18 entry fee); July 10 - Wickford Village; July 24 - JFK Library ($12 entry fee); August 7 - Plymouth; August 21 - Nantasket Beach; September 11 - Borderland State Park; September 25 - Kowloon; and Oct. 9 - Hoxie Hill & Grist Mill in Sandwich ($12 entry fee). CAPE COD LUNCH TRAIN TOUR
Join the Foxborough seniors on Wednesday, June 12 for a scenic ride to Hyannis, MA where we will board the Colonial Lunch Train for a 2 hour Cape Cod journey and a 3 course meal! We will leave Foxborough by motorcoach at 9:15 a.m. from the side parking lot of St. Mary's Church at 58 Carpenter Street. While onboard, we will be treated to expertly prepared food served with white linen class while we enjoy a mid-day escape on a relaxing train ride. Your meal choice is Pistachio Crusted Cod, Baked Chicken Florentine, Vegetable Noodles or Cape Cod Central's Turkey Sandwich. Each meal is accompanied by Sagamore Signature Scallop and Bacon Chowder, coffee/tea with Chef's choice dessert. Following our excursion, we will head to Hyannis for exploring and shopping on your own.. The cost is $151 per person for Foxboro residents and $156 per person for non-residents. DAY TRIP ON THE ESSEX STEAM TRAIN & RIVERBOAT
All Aboard!! Join us on a special Rail & Sail trip to Essex, Connecticut on Thursday, Aug. 15. We will be leaving from the side parking lot of St. Mary's Church, 58 Carpenter Street, at 9 a.m. Upon arrival at the Essex Station, we will board the steam train where we will enjoy lunch on board a dining car while we take a scenic train excursion through the beautiful countryside. For lunch, you have a choice of Braised Beef with carrots, celery & red wine, Mushroom Asiago Chicken or Baked Ziti with ricotta & fresh mozzarella. The train travels along the Connecticut River to Deep River. Upon arrival at the Deep River Station we will board the Riverboat for a relaxing ride along the Connecticut River. The cost for this trip is $155 for Foxboro residents and $165 for non-residents. We have started a waiting list for this trip.
VISIT THE ISABELLA STEWART GARDNER MUSEUM WITH LUNCH AT THE VENEZIA
On Thursday, May 23 at 11 a.m. we will be leaving Foxborough from St. Mary's Church parking lot at 58 Carpenter and traveling to Boston. We will start our day with an amazing lunch at the Venezia Restaurant where you will have your choice of Baked Haddock, Chicken Parmigiana or Pasta Primavera for lunch. Then we are off to the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum for a self-guided tour. This museum first welcomed visitors on New Year's Day in 1903 and opened as a place to celebrate art, music and horticulture. The museum became world famous in 1990 when 13 pieces of art were stolen. This became the largest art theft in the world. The museum houses one of the nation's finest collections of art, and there are 3 floors of galleries that surround a garden courtyard blooming with life in all seasons. The museum is filled with paintings, sculpture, tapestries, furniture, and decorative arts from cultures spanning 30 centuries. The cost is $128 per person for Foxborough residents and $133 for non-residents. Registration for this trip has begun.

Join us on Monday mornings from 10:15 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. for our 1 On 1 Tech Support Program. During your 1 on 1 individualized tech support appointment, you will be able to get answers relating to phones, tablets or computers. Examples include troubleshooting, setting up a device, and other "how to" questions. Call us to set up an appointment.
REPRESENTATIVE JAY BARROWS OFFICE HOUR
Join Representative Jay Barrows at the senior center on Tuesday, April 23 from 9 to 10 a.m. for a group discussion as well as question and answer session. Representative Barrows will be at the senior center on the 4th Tuesday of each month at 9 a.m. Sign up in advance.
THEATER WORKSHOPS
Every Wednesday from 11:15 a.m. to 12:15 p.m., our Theater Workshop meets at the senior center. Learn character portrayal by reading scripts (mostly comedy). This fun workshop is led by Evie Rayburg and Jeanne Bonneau, and does NOT require memorization, costumes or production. Please sign up in advance.
SERENADING SENIORS CHORUS
The "Serenading Seniors" is a friendly, fun group of singers who meet weekly at the senior center for rehearsals and occasional performances at local venues. This group meets every Wednesday at 10 a.m. Currently, membership is at capacity, but if you are interested in joining us, please call the senior center to get on a waiting list. For more information, the senior center can put you in touch with the Choral Director.
TRAVELING TO IRELAND IN 2024
On June 22 to July 1, 2024, we will be traveling on a 10 day/9 night trip to Ireland. We'll be starting off in Dublin and traveling on to Kilkenny, Waterford, Killarney, Limerick and Galway. Along the way we'll be visiting the Blarney Stone, Ring of Kerry and the Cliffs of Moher, ending the trip with an overnight stay on the stately grounds of Cabra Castle. The cost is $4,129 per person/double, $4,729 per single, and $4,099 per person/triple. Registration for this trip has begun. Trip flyers with all the travel details are available at the senior center or can be emailed to you upon request. We have started a "wait list" for this trip, so please let us know if you are interested and would like to be added to that list.
ORGANIZED PICKLEBALL TIME FOR SENIORS
Foxborough's new Pickleball courts on Payson Road have been reserved for use by seniors on Friday mornings between 8 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. If seniors would like to play Pickleball at the new courts, please call the senior center at 508-543-1234 to sign up in advance.
CHESS
Calling all Chess players! On Friday mornings, from 8:30 to 10:30 a.m., come to the senior center and have fun playing chess with new friends while competing in this strategic board game while enjoying a cup of coffee and a donut. Please sign up in advance to let us know you'll be joining us.
TABLE TOP GARDEN CLUB
Our Table Top Garden Club, under the direction of Marsha Lewicke, meets at the senior center on Tuesdays at 11 a.m. Everyone is welcome to join us and no previous gardening experience is necessary.
CRAFT GROUP
It's time to work on your crafts in a group setting with friends. Join us at the senior center on Thursdays at 1:30 p.m. If you'd like to participate, bring your craft to work on, such as knitting, embroidering, cross stitching, beading, diamonding, hand quilting or whatever small craft you may choose. This group meets every Thursday at 1 p.m., except for the 3rd Thursday of each month. Sign up in advance.
SELF DEFENSE CLASSES
Every Tuesday morning at 9:30 a.m., our Tai Chi Instructor Elijah Swain will be providing a weekly self-defense class for seniors who are looking for the basics to protect themselves against potential threats. The cost is $4 per class and is punch card eligible.
EARLY BEGINNER MAH JONGG
The Early Beginner Mah Jongg program meets at the senior center every Tuesday afternoon at 1 p.m., except for the 1st Tuesday of each month. This early beginner Mah Jongg free play group is for players who have only just recently started learning and may want to take each game a little slower than those who have played Mah Jongg for many years. Sign up and let us know you'll be joining us.
BRIDGE LESSONS
Bridge is a card game that is played all over the world, in person and online. Bridge lessons at the senior center, with instructor Sunil Trivedi, will now be held on Tuesdays at 11:30 a.m. This program will introduce new players to this international card game. Please sign up if you'd like to join us.

TAI CHI
Start your day with the peaceful meditation and movement of Tai Chi led by instructor Elijah Swain on Tuesday mornings from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. Elijah is a 9th Degree black belt and owns the Tai Jing Academy. The cost is $4 per class and is punch card eligible. Thank you to the Friends of Foxboro Seniors for helping to fund this program.
CHAIR YOGA
Chair Yoga classes are held at the senior center every Monday morning at 9:15 a.m. under the direction of Lisa Cohen. Yoga is a gentle form of yoga that can be done while sitting in a chair or while standing and using the chair for support. The cost for this class is $4 and is punch card eligible. Due to limited space, you must call in advance to register for the class.
ZUMBA GOLD
Zumba is a fitness program inspired by Latin Dance. Zumba combines Latin rhythms with cardiovascular exercise to create an aerobic tine that is fun and easy to follow. Join us on Tuesday mornings at 9:45 a.m. The cost is $4 per class and is punch card eligible. Space is limited, so please call in advance to sign up for each class.
SCRABBLE
Do you enjoy playing a game of Scrabble or would you like to learn how to play? We have a Scrabble group that meets on Monday afternoons at 12:30 p.m. at the senior center. Challenge your mind, enjoy some time with friends and have lots of fun. If you're interested in playing, call us to sign up.
STRENGTH TRAINING
Our Strength Training classes are held every Wednesday morning at 8:45 a.m. Each week this program features stretching routines and exercises that focus on the core, legs, arms and shoulders. The cost is $4 per class and is punch card eligible.
SENIOR FITNESS
Join is for our Senior Fitness classes on Friday mornings at 8:45 a.m. This class uses stretching, aerobics and hand-held weights, to focus on exercising the body from the neck to the ankles. Senior Fitness is designed for all levels of fitness. The cost is $4 per class and is punch card eligible.
KNITTING
Our knitting group meets at 1 p.m. at the senior center every Monday afternoon. This group loves to gather and chat, knit, and even do some crocheting, if you so choose. Everyone is welcome to attend, just bring your knitting project to work on. Please sign up in advance.
