September is.....
Emergency Preparedness Month....

Are you and your family ready for an emergency???  The next power outage???
Here's a few things you can do to get ready!!!

Create a Family Emergency & Communication Plan:
***Sometimes during an emergency, you may need to evacuate your home quickly...or you may not even be able to GET HOME because it just isn't safe!  Make sure your family has at least two alternative "meeting locations" and make sure everyone is aware of where these locations are in case you are separated during an emergency.  Communication within the affected area may also be difficult. Designate an "Out-of-Town" Contact who can act as your Family's 'Point of Contact'.  Have your family members contact them to let them know YOUR'RE okay, and to find out THEY'RE okay.
Helpful Hint:  Unless it's an emergency, TEXT - DON'T CALL.  Texts may have an easier time getting through than phone calls.

Build an Emergency Supply Kit:
***Is the news saying there may be a chance for a power outage???  Don't just get bread and milk!!!!  Make sure you have the necessary supplies to survive for the first 72 hours of an emergency.

Be informed...Get the Alerts....Download the Apps:
***There are many ways to become alerted of an emergency.  Sign up/Download the following; Reverse 911, Massachusetts Alert App clip_image002.png , NOAA Weather Radar & Alerts App clip_image03.png , and check with your wireless provider and see if you are set up for Wireless Emergency Alerts (WEA)

Would you like to be a volunteer and help others during an emergency?
